We are eleven students of 4th  GEDI (Degree in industrial design engineering) and GDIS (Degree in design) at the Elisava School, Barcelona. Thanks to this variety of mentions, we absorb stimuli and skills from different disciplines and put them into action when we are working. We are entrepreneurs eager to design and manufacture different projects. We are all moved by a passion for creativity and its different facets, the desire to share what we know, and continue learning together with the teachers and ourselves.

The objective of the project is to create a 100% electric off-road motorcycle and to implement a business plan to complete the product cycle of the project.

BSMC 2020

We believe that the best way to start our journey is the Barcelona Smart Moto Challenge, as a competition of off-road electric motorcycle on hi involving 20 teams of different universities from all parts of the world.

The BSMC evaluates motorcycles in aesthetic terms, where it assesses the technical aspects, the design and the business plan, and is highly valued in dynamic terms, where it values acceleration, maneuverability, speed and resistance of the motorcycle.

Our value proposal is based on a fleet of vehicles ready and equipped to assist in any emergency in a hostile environment such as the high mountains. Which this we want to reduce the rescue time in accidents that occur in high mountains, thus reducing the consumption of fossil fuels.

Motorcycle

Dayna, the first smart rescue motorcycle,

off-road and 100% electric.

Smart Electric Rescue

The two-wheeled vehicle offers more agile access for rescue and medical teams to the area where the injured person is located so that they can be treated initially and decide quickly whether to evacuate him using other medical transport.

Dayna is medicalized and incorporates the equipment and tools needed to perform basic treatments and stabilization of the wounded.

Dayna's business plan is based on a new smart system with IoT connection, blind spot and proximity sensors, Bluetooth and GPS that will reduce downtime during rescue services. The motorcycle would be able to integrate information from GPS tracking devices and combine it with data from runners’ applications to analyze their movement.

Dayna could anticipate accidents or situations in which the runner may need assistance before even requesting it, for example by detecting a too long stop by a runner who could be injured, among others.

Designed, developed and manufactured in Barcelona

Dayna was developed from scratch taking into account different studies focused on ergonomics, mechanics, electronics and interaction with the environment.

The Elisava Racing Team has always bet on innovation with the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, such as additive manufacturing to design and manufacture all those non-standard components of the vehicle, or the adaptation and optimization of a production chassis of an enduro Gas-Gas to an electric power train.

The students have also used advanced digital tools such as digital analysis, simulation and optimisation softwares to follow a development process very close to the one used by the current motorcycle industry.
